Core Breakthrough: 400–500 km of energy replenishment in just 5 minutes, with no compromise in extreme cold conditions.

Technical Parameters:

  • Single-gun peak power: 1500 kW (Tesla V4 Supercharger is approximately 500 kW), with dual-gun parallel charging reaching 2100 kW.

  • Replenishment speed: 400–500 km of range added in 5 minutes; 10% to 70% state of charge (SOC) in just 5 minutes, and 10% to 97% SOC in only 9 minutes.

  • Low-temperature performance: At -30°C, charging time is only 3 minutes slower than at room temperature, effectively ending the long-standing challenge of "electric vehicles struggling to operate north of the Shanhaiguan Pass."

  • Supporting technology: Second-generation Blade Battery (Lithium Iron Manganese Phosphate, or LMFP), with an energy density of 190–210 Wh/kg, enabling a CLTC-rated range of up to 1036 km.

Network Construction (Flash Charge China Initiative):

  • By the end of 2026, BYD plans to build 20,000 flash charging stations (18,000 in urban areas and 2,000 along expressways).

  • Urban coverage: Stations will be spaced every 3 km in first- and second-tier cities, every 5 km in third- and fourth-tier cities, and every 6 km in fifth- and sixth-tier cities.

  • Expressway coverage: Nearly one-third of expressway service areas will be equipped, averaging one station every 100+ km.

Deployment Timeline:
The technology is set to be introduced in models priced around 150,000 yuan within 2026 and will be equipped across all BYD brand portfolios, including U8 , Denza , Wangchao , Ocean , and Fangchengbao .

Key Implications:
This advancement represents a significant leap in EV charging infrastructure, addressing two major barriers to widespread EV adoption: charging speed and cold-weather performance. With ultra-high-power charging and enhanced battery chemistry, BYD aims to make electric vehicles more practical and accessible, even in regions with harsh winters. The ambitious expansion of the charging network further supports the transition to sustainable mobility across China.
